Description
The LWCS is a connection device between a remote-master and a string of the brickBUS® slaves modules.
The largest configuration (variant) contains the interfaces LAN, WLAN, CAN and Serial which can be used to couple a remote-master. It is also possible to use the CAN and RSxxx as an IO-device (on request).
The unit is driven by 24Vdc and also serves as power-supply unit that delivers 3.3V and 24V for the slave modules. Nevertheless the bus is controlled by the connected remote-master. The LWCS acts as the bus master of the local bus and the connected slaves modules. There-fore the LWCS has the ability to control its string in exceptional situations autark, e.g. by put-ting a teached output pattern on the bus when the remote-master communication breaks down.
Operation Modes
The LWCS acts as a coupling device between remote-bus and local-bus and is therefore a Lo-cal-Master whitout own functionality. It contains three different (alternative) operation modes:
- Serial Operation (via RS485)
- CAN Operation (via CAN-Interface)
- TCP/IP Operation (via LAN of WLAN)
All three modes contain the same data and protocol content.
